Tales of Eternia Remastered is out. Bandai Namco Europe dated the launch Friday, October 16, 2026. Platforms: Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Bandai Namco America’s launch-day update note is timestamped October 15 and says console files would be available at 9 p.m. PDT that night, with Steam already live — which is Friday on the East Coast desk.

What Bandai Namco says it is

The remaster follows Reid Hershel, Farah, Keele, and Meredy across Inferia and Celestia as they try to stop the Grand Fall, a collision of the two worlds, by seeking the Greater Craymels. Bandai Namco America calls it a remaster of Tales of Eternia, first released in 2001 as Tales of Destiny II. Bandai Namco Europe’s launch post calls the original a 2006 action RPG. Those dates do not match. We are not inventing a third one.

Toggles and quality-of-life

  • Graphics Mode and SFX Mode: switch between remastered and original visuals and sound effects.
  • Boost: adjust experience gained and encounter frequency.
  • Toggleable destination icons.
  • High-speed mode during Auto-mode mid-battle.
  • Battle Retry and Quick Recovery.
  • Extreme difficulty available from the start; Unknown difficulty unlocks after completing the game.

Day-one v2.0.0

A v2.0.0 update shipped with launch. Bandai Namco America lists a Japanese-only Font Style option, Titles added to New Game+ carryover, and text bug fixes. File sizes are not small on every SKU: about 7 GB on Switch 2 and Steam, about 8 GB on Xbox Series X|S, and much smaller on Switch, PS5, and PS4. The publisher says apply it before playing. This is not a review.
