Valorant Patch 11.04 analysis: the Operator tax is real

Riot called 11.04 a “maintenance patch.” That is true for the agents. It is not true for the buy menu. The Operator is 4,900 credits. That is a 200-credit tax that changes bonus-round math on every map that is not Bind.

  Right-click recovery 0.5s → 0.45s. Pistol round only, and it matters.

On a full-buy, an Operator plus heavy shields plus a light buy for your duelist is no longer free after a bonus. Expect more Marshal rounds on Haven A long and more Sheriff force-buys when your team is already down an Orb.

Agents

Vyse’s wall no longer eats teammate utility on the first tick. That is a bugfix, not a nerf, and it will make her look stronger in Premier VODs this month. Iso’s shield still dies to two rifles; stop drafting him as a second duelist into Operator maps.

Map pool

• Abyss is out of competitive for the rest of Act 2.
• Split is back. Default executes on A are still the same. Mid control is not — the defender setup that was standard in Episode 10 is a throw now.
• Sunset stays. If you muted that map, unmute it.

Premier teams should redraw their Haven and Split attack defaults this week, not next week. The credit tax hits attack second rounds hardest, which is exactly when most amateur teams auto-Op.
